Snapshot emissions profiles are updated each year around September-November. To do this, Ironbark’s data analysts source, collate, convert and verify the data from various publicly-available data sources online (See FAQ “where does the data come from?”). This involves doing a series of tests for errors and variations to ensure the data is consistent and as accurate as possible. Sector experts from government and research bodies are consulted, to discuss methods, exploring unreported or low reported subsectors, investigating ways to improve consistency across datasets, and explore new visualisations or ways of presenting the information.
